Mainland Common Park |
Trail Summary |
· Good walking trail within the city. · A nice retreat from typical city walking trails. · Connects to larger “power line” trail, ideal for biking. · Well maintained bridges, boardwalks and benches. |
From the Mainland Commons in Clayton Park, a gravel walkway lays alongside a baseball field into the seemingly un-kept forest. A closer inspection reveals a wonderful trail through the woods that is ideal for a short walk and a quick escape. The main path is wide enough for two people. The paths are maintained and include a bridge and well constructed boardwalk contained in a marshy area which is ideal for nature watching. Several small paths veer off the main path, and the trail connects to the larger Mainland North Linear Parkway which stretches from Kearney Lake to Main St. in Fairview. |
