Trail Summary

· Good for nice easy stroll with the family.

· Good signage.

· Not maintained in winter, can be tough walking in snow.

Belchers Marsh, located off of Lacewood Drive in Clayton Park, is a great place to take the dog or the whole family for a  Sunday stroll.  The walking is easy and the distance is minimal. Though in the heart of a residential neighbourhood dominated by apartment buildings, you get a very good sense of ease.  The marsh is heaven for local ducks, and they reside aplenty here.  You should, however, refrain from feeding them in winter as they don’t seem to want to leave! There is a well constructed central lookout in the middle of the pond that provides a good vantage point.  Signs along the way give you location and trail info, as well as interesting facts about the area.  In winter it makes for a great pond skate, but walking the trail can be difficult in the snow as it is not maintained.

All in all, a great choice for anyone looking for a casual walk within the city.
