Belchers Marsh Park - Natural History

Belchers Marsh Park, a natural ecosystem, has experienced both human and natural disturbance. The surrounding residential development which occured in the 1990s has affected the water quality through run-off and the water level is higher than it was pre-development. Natural disturbance includes fire in the 1980s and hurricane Juan in September 2003, both of which impacted the woodlands.
