Go easy on them, stay on the trail, don&#8217;t create new ones, be mindful of where you step, and always <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leavenotrace.ca\/principles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Leave No Trace<\/a>!\u00a0 Remember that most of our trails are maintained by volunteers, so please don&#8217;t create more unpaid work for them &amp; support the groups who work on your favourite local trails.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0When shifting gears from winter downtime, it&#8217;s easy to have sensibilities outweighed by ambition so it&#8217;s best to start off with outings that won&#8217;t leave you completely gassed.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a top 10 list hikes on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.halifaxtrails.ca\/category\/easy\/\">easy <\/a>end of \u00a0 \u00a0A unique urban oasis, it&#8217;s a popular gathering place for all kinds of different birds and waterfowl.\u00a0 If you stick around to do some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.halifaxtrails.ca\/tag\/bird-watching\/\">#birdwatching<\/a> you may be treated to osprey, bald eagles, great blue heron and other species rarely seen in such an urban another visit to Point Pleasant Park.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You can almost see the heart of Halifax beating here.\u00a0 I sometimes think that the mood of the city is a reflection of the current climate at Point Pleasant Park.\u00a0 It&#8217;s ideal for jogging, walking, catching, throwing, pondering, and most other verbs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><a style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0For all coastal hikes, you&#8217;ll want to bring extra layers, as conditions differ significantly from the mainland, and are subject to rapid changes.\u00a0 Proper footwear is a must for cautious footing on slippery, rocky terrain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0This trail follows 1.5km of coastline, so it&#8217;s short enough to head back if conditions change.\u00a0 With beautiful scenery throughout, you can walk the entire 1.5km (3km return) or just take in the view from one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/kuula.co\/post\/78tXH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">benches<\/a> just steps from the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Though it&#8217;s a short trail, climbing and scampering among the rocks can be a workout in itself.\u00a0 It&#8217;s an alternative to your cross-fit class and a great place to re-center yourself in nature&#8217;s yoga studio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><a If you love Point Pleasant Park, you&#8217;ll love the sans-coastline version of it too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The ravine itself is pretty cool, and the trails are exactly like what you see at Point Pleasant.\u00a0 Ideal for strolls with loved ones.\u00a0 You could become another chapter in the park&#8217;s amorous history by proposing marriage next to the heart-shaped pond.
